Just came back from a short visit to Canada, where the people were absolutely lovely and laid back. First night in a state park in Washington, and I realized we are now the Divided States of America after watching people behaving very badly. How do we fix this?

On a road trip and rely on Starlink so I can work remotely. And it’s having its second apparent global outage in a couple months. Yay?

Check out this time lapse of the Pillar Point Harbor in Half Moon Bay. Notice the abrupt up and down motion of the boats. A tsunami is not just one wave. It's a packet of waves that can last for several hours. This rapid surging of water can create dangerous currents.

Our back yard is the harbor. Like our patio drops to rocks, drops to water. During high tide, water is up those rocks.

Ok. Tsunami advisory at our house in CA (on a NorCal harbor near SanFran) where our daughter lives. So far it says it’ll hit ~12:30am PT (which is way past my bedtime here ET). Estimated 1ft. Tide will be mid-tide around 3.5ft. We get king tides near 7ft. So I think she’ll be ok?
