I love when you’re trying to assess an old patients mental status and you ask them who the current president is and they get pissed off as hell. theyre like Don’t make me say his name 🤬🤬🤬🤬
I recently rewatched Legally Blonde (2001). This is what I noticed.
The fact that Elle creates an ethic of care all around her is incredibly feminist (believing Brooke and not betraying her trust, getting previously hostile rival Vivian on board, advocating for Paulette and treating her as an equal).
Elle doesn't win on ruthless male terms, she operates more ethically.
She creates a supportive community out of an initially hostile and isolating environment, and in that space all the redeemable characters thrive.
Essentially, Elle is an incredibly effective coalition builder.
