Why should any teacher go to work and come home with a physical injury inflicted purposefully by another human and for ppl to say ‘that’s just part of the job’. That should never be part of the job.
Game over.

Today was the last day I had with my 3rd block kiddos, most of them I've taught all year. I'm endlessly proud of what they've overcome, the hard work they've put in, and their positive attitudes. That class kept me going when I wanted to throw in the towel.. I'm gonna miss them🥺
"Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”
Then I attached the file but it doesn't let you send a blank message so I told him to go type me something and hit send, and that's what he typed to me. 🥺 I love my babies and my job.
For EOC prep, I'm having my Intermediate Algebra students pick a unit from all of Algebra 1 to become an expert in, and they're putting together their own notes to teach it to the class.
This kiddo was ready to send his to me to get printed, and I went to his canvas to find me to send the file, and when I went to look at his courses I couldn't find Intermediate Algebra. I looked at him confused and he goes "oh you're in there as favorite teacher, duh."
Teachers don’t always need a new strategy, a new activity, or a new resource. Sometimes… what they need is some encouragement. They need to be reminded that they are professionals, that they are good at what they do, and that what they are doing every day really does matter.
