This is how we found Rocky 3 months ago. He’d been dumped on the streets because he was old and blind. He was completely discarded, just waiting for the end…
In the end he had dignity, comfort and lots of love. It was only 6 days but he meant a lot to us all.
Very sad this evening as I had big plans for Bear.
Proud of the team as always. Give your own dogs an extra cuddle today
This beautiful girl is on my feeding route. She got into a squabble with a buffalo and gored.
It was the infection that was worst. She’s black and blue but nothing broken.
Says she will stick to playing with dogs from now on 🥲
We lost beautiful Tofu yesterday. One of the original members of the retirement village.
He was with us for 10 months of bliss. It never gets any easier seeing them off but I love how much respect the dogs feel from our team at the end. He is buried beside bis friend Atlas.
We wish we had a bigger update on Mr. Bear today, but unfortunately, there isn't much change. He is still very sick and fighting a tough battle. The most important thing right now is that he is finally safe with us, and our medical team is doing absolutely everything in our power to fix him.
People often ask what a normal week at a dog rescue looks like, and the truth is, it’s rarely glamorous. One day you’re climbing headfirst into a drainage tunnel at 9 AM, and the next you’re out feeding street packs in a rainstorm. Sometimes it means showing up to work feeling completely unwell but refusing to quit, or relying on 10-minute car naps between rescues just to keep your eyes open. The exhaustion is real, and some weeks completely drain you but then you look at that last photo. Seeing Tina’s Hospital finally coming together makes every single rainstorm and brutal day completely worth it. This is exactly what we are working so hard for, and we wouldn't trade it for the world. ❤️
If you ever need to find the absolute legend that is Rocky, you only have to check his three favourite spots around Happy Doggo Land. You will usually catch him cooling off in his water tub, taking a well-deserved snooze inside his brand-new custom house called Rocky's Retreat, or leading the squad on a very serious security patrol right outside the treat room door.
If anybody out there is feeling bad about their life or a little hopeless or struggling with an injury, then this is the video for you. I still cannot understand how Stormzy made it back and is looking and acting as unbelievably well as he is today. It just fills my heart with so much joy.
We've had a few tough losses recently with Apollo, Atlas, and little Al Pacino. I was just scrolling through my videos with dinner, looking at some of the success stories to try and remember the wins that we have. So so proud of this little boy. He's a perfect example of never giving up and always fighting because there is a better life out there ahead of us all.
