Don't forget to use #HDSBFirstDay to show how you are preparing for the start of the new school year.
We hope you have an awesome year of learning, fun and discovery. We got this #HDSB fam👍
Students finished up their sustainability investigation with a gallery walk! There was lots of detailed information and interesting inferences and questions! @HaltonDSB 🌎
Earth Week is coming to an end and the 8s have done such a good job with the theme Planet vs Plastic! They used a mix of 3D and 2D objects to make a point to take action for a sustainable world 🌎♻️ @HaltonDSB
Today is #EarthDay and this year’s theme is Planet vs. Plastics. Today and everyday, the #HDSB is committed to taking action for a sustainable world. Let's be kind to our planet, and remember that we can all help to make a difference and protect our world for future generations.
Students worked really hard on their catapult launch projects! They sketched out blue prints, made a materials list and tested their launch. They turned out so well and they were so excited to work in the D & T room using hack saws, hand drills etc. @Falgarwood_HDSB
Falgarwood’s Girls’ Volleyball team won their tournament!!! We are proud of you and your Falcon Pride and Leadership!!Way to go and thank you to our coaches Ms.Chojka and Mrs.Stewart.
I am blown away by some of the unLearn posters and paragraphs my students created about social injustices! We really have some critical thinkers in this class who want to change the world! @unlearn_com@Falgarwood_HDSB
In science, students used gummy bears to explore diffusion and osmomis! They did an experiment with a control group, plain water and salt water. They measured the size before and after and wrote their analysis. Some were shocked at the size difference! @Falgarwood_HDSB
I got the opportunity today to take a PD session on using hand tools and power tools safely. I cannot wait to do some of these activities with my students and see their creative and innovative ideas. So many cross-curricular connections!
The Grade 8s had such a great learning experience at the Level Up Trades Fair today. So many great things to see and do like creating a tool box out of sheet metal. @SkilledTradesON
