P7s and P1s had a great afternoon in the Walled Garden on Tuesday. They were on a 'hunt' for mini beasts and found all sorts of interesting creatures. ππͺ²πππͺ°πͺ±π @standrewsFCRC
Some outdoor maths today for P7. We were using different measuring tools to measure things in our playground, including the area and perimeter of the Astro. @standrewsFCRC
Primary 7s have been writing adverts for classroom items that are not very exciting. Quite boring actually. Items to choose from included a glue stick, scissors and dirty rubbers. I was so impressed with the humour and effectiveness of everyone's adverts! @standrewsFCRC
P7 worked through different stations for P.E. today to practice some previous skills and learn some new ones: javelin throw, press ups, standing long jump and reaction drills. All finished off with a quick game of football.@standrewsFCRC
P7s are having a great time at the Edinburgh International Festival Hub for their Art of Listening workshop. We are learning to listen to and appreciate different pieces of music and some beautiful opera singing. πΌπΉπΆThanks so much to all the staff! @standrewsFCRC@edintfest
Before starting our topic on World War 2, Primary 7 created their own mind maps to show what they already know and then we worked as a whole class to write down all our questions. Very impressed by the range of interest and questions we have in our class! @standrewsFCRC
Primary 7s started the term off with a BANG by making our volcano models erupt. π That concludes last term's learning on the structure of the Earth and natural disasters. π@standrewsFCRC
10 representatives from P7 plus 1 from P6 have had a great morning at the Swimming Gala at the Commonwealth Pool. Everyone did incredibly well and tried their very best. And we won a gold medal in freestyle! π₯π₯π₯ I'm so proud of everyone! @standrewsFCRC
Primary 7s have started making papier mache volcanoes. We got very sticky and messy in the process but for most of us it was the first time learning this technique. Once they are dry, we will be painting our volcanoes and then....π! @standrewsFCRC
Primary 7s are having a run through of the football tournament some of us have organised for P5s to P7s on Thursday 30th March. We are being helped by some fantastic sport leaders from Craigmount High School. @standrewsFCRC
Primary 7s tested their bridges. The gap to bridge was 400mm between 2 desks and we tested them by adding standardised weights until they collapsed. Our winning design, by Louis, Arran, John and Daniel, supported an impressive 1,100 grams! @edinburghcoll@standrewsFCRC
Primary 7s thoroughly enjoyed building their bridges today! We really listened to the tips given by Edinburgh College. We're looking forward to receiving our feedback on Teams. @standrewsFCRC@edinburghcoll
Primary 7s have just had their introductory chat for our STEM challenge with Edinburgh College. We are feeling really inspired to start building our bridges. We've already learnt about tension, compression and composite structures. @standrewsFCRC@edinburghcoll
Primary 7s have designed and made their own themed gameboards to practice their times tables. We have made different levels of difficulty and are hoping to let other classes use them too. We have tested them and we're really happy with them!
@standrewsFCRC
Primary 7s have been enjoying reading in all sorts of silly places and positions this morning for World Book Day. We've got even more ideas for silly places to read that we will try later! @standrewsFCRC
