This means the pathway for Scottish boxers to fulfil their dream of competing at an Olympic Games remains open.

The Boxing Scotland Elite Golden Gloves Championships preliminary rounds will conclude this weekend, as we build up to the Elite Golden Gloves Finals on Saturday 22nd March.

Boxing Scotland is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Scotland’s greatest ever amateur boxer, Dick McTaggart MBE.

Dick remains the only Scottish boxer ever to win a Gold medal at an Olympic Games (1956), in addition to winning European and Commonwealth Gold medals.

Boxing Scotland was also delighted to see that an amendment to the IBA Constitution regarding a Dual Membership Policy was overwhelmingly passed by 94.83% of Member Nations, with a pathway for Scottish boxers to future Olympic Games remaining of upmost importance.

The figure is only very slightly down by the small margin of 16 clubs from the 136 affiliated clubs that we had last season.
