Working the football game at my student teaching placement was one of my favorite moments from this fall. Seeing students outside of the classroom
helped us connect better in class AND I got to see some of them shine on the field! #ci5307

After reflecting on my first student teaching experience, I am realizing how easy it could be to get comfortable with one process of teaching. What are some ways that you suggest that teachers can stay engaged with a growth mindset?
One of my most influential mentors once told me that teaching is equal parts passion for education, expertise on your subject, and exponential compassion for your students. That balance will always stick with me as an educator. #ci5307

It was not until I started my fall student teaching placement that I really understood the importance of having a strong community of other teachers. I am so thankful for my cohort! #ci5307

Although schools have no control over sub pay, we can greet them, stop by room and say hello, and let them know to come to us if they needed anything. I did this as a teacher and admin. So important to make them feel part of the team!
The Minnesota State Capitol has unveiled a statue depicting labor and civil rights activist Nellie Stone Johnson, the first statue of a Black Minnesotan at the site. Students can see this statue on field trips visiting the Capitol. https://t.co/CikbeWBODX
What are all of your approaches to engaging sleepy students? How do you reflect on your pedagogy in response to a sleepy student? Asking for a friend...๐ค #ci5307 @tsmitner
@mrbartucz A5: One thing that I have been doing is engaging with more equity driven teaching resource websites. In addition to that, I have been trying to inform myself about the culture and values in the town that I teach. #PSTPLN#CI5307#UDL#personalizedlearning#teachered
I've had a bunch of close friends leave teaching and start working in the private sector. Without fail, every single one of them says they are less stressed, their work/life balance is better, and their mental health is better, even though some are making less money.

@mrbartucz Q2: One technology that I want to use more of is Jamboard, because it is interactive, gives students a lot of freedom, and makes learning more accessible to visualize. I sometimes don't use it just because I think it can be difficult to monitor. #PSTPLN
@mrbartucz #PSTPLN Hi! I am Eve Hanson! A1: Something that I will focus more on this year is offering different leveled readings, questions, and assignments, because I have already observed that some students struggle with material, while others are bored. There should be options for all.
