We’ve been investigating in STEM this year! 1st grade measured the height of shadows when the light sourced moved. 2nd grade used various materials to see what affected heat. The result was learning about conductors and insulators!

Challenge presented: build a habitat for a zoo animal. 5th graders earned $ throughout the year. They spent their $ on materials. Today we invited classes in to “visit” our zoo. They loved sharing their hard work and educating the littles about their animals! #STEMeducation

Tried a new building game with 5th grade today. Two simple materials needed. Stack the nuts on top of each other using just the stick. If you knock it down, you’re out. They loved it!

Best way for everyone to appreciate a new space is to take part in creating it. We finally have finished garden beds!!! Students 2nd to 5th grade helped plant 60+ plants to make our space beautiful. My own little came to help place plants. #HillcrestHurricanes #ExploreWithD34

HUGE shout out to Balanced Environments Inc.! They spent time on their Saturday cleaning up @D34Hurricanes garden beds and donating plants to make our space look amazing! I can’t wait to plant the flowers in the coming days.
