I had an experience with an inquiry teacher who always asked us "how does this make you better", after everything we read. It made me read the text in a way that did not just search for key ideas. It helped me find connections and take aways for real life situations. #Flynn491F20

I really liked the idea n the YouTube video that stated inquiry teachers "ask more than they tell". I think this is really important because students are always looking for a "right answer", but if we giving them the right questions is more important. #Flynn491F20

Inquiry based instruction is when your goals and activities line up with an overarching need to understand more than just the text on the page. It dives into deeper questions, connections and meanings. #Flynn491F20

@AbigailMaimone Yes, as a student I felt like I had a really hard time getting the same encouragement to enroll in upper level classes (specifically classes that were not ELA related), and it really made me fall behind in those subjects. #491FlynnF20

POV Of a student- Due to my past with academic tracking, I think it is a system that, when used incorrectly, creates a disconnect among students and a mindset that "some people just can" and "some people just cannot". #491FlynnF20
