@mepassistants I mean yeah I am pro EU not for some asinine anti immigration bullshit or to "beat" other countries, I want to get to the united federation of planets.
@gadinilsonn @wastedsom@memeticsisyphus@GreyWreath But also there was much more war going on than just capturing other nobles for ransom or honour. Plundering was a common thing, also armies generally just supplied themselves "off the land". And there were still also much more large wars going on between nations than now.
@gadinilsonn @wastedsom@memeticsisyphus@GreyWreath Do you bother to think before spewing out complete horseshit? The average person in the world nowadays is vastly less likely to die in a war than the average medieval peasant was, let alone someone from the west. Yes the nobles were captured, the people around them were killed.
@Dbl_R_Diner@RealSeanFoley@kb9903alt@AlanRMacLeod Paid fire departments or equivalent have existed historically. Their main function was to extort people once their house was on fire because anything is worth not losing your house. This is how crassus got his money, buying people's burning houses for a fraction of their worth.
@ponderlest@sulkingtime God him using no doubt absurdly expensive water from a glass bottle to fill a bowl to dunk his head in unnecessarily was infuriating.
@kelswizzIe As a very white guy from northwestern europe with quite curly hair, starting to use "black" hair products was the best decision I made for my hair.
