how do you deal with someone who praises an artist’s work and showers them with compliments in the comments, but then calls their art shit behind their back? Is that hypocrisy or diplomacy?

now I’m even afraid of receiving compliments on my own drawings, because you can never know for sure whether someone is secretly talking shit about your art behind your back.
