I will have to look into it, and I will admit that history books have mislead me before. What literature/education led you to such a conclusion?

I am a libertarian and I think all large organizations like that tend to get evil... but I don't think the situations are that similar.

A lot of bands allied with the US government to defeat the commanche. If we are speaking of the Buffalo cull though, this was specifically to target commanche.

They were fierce warriors, who rode on horseback and wiped out other interior bands. They were incredibly brutal, and would torture women and children if captured. They were defending their recently conquered territory

Having a low opinion of another culture is not even in the same ballpark.
