TIDBIT:
#ThePolygamist has hit Latin America, registering a spot in Colombia, Venezuela, Salvador and Argentina Netflix Top 10 lists.
If this momentum holds, given that it has topped few countries across the world, the show will dethrone Blood & Water as the biggest series export we have had out of South Africa ever.
It just needs to get in the top 1 of Brazil and stay there for more than 3 days. It did briefly hit number 1 for a day. Brazil is Netflix's second biggest single market, and if it clocks a spot in any of the Asian markets — that would just be epic.
On the continent, South Africa with around 1,3 - million subscribers accounts for approximately 70% of Netflix's sub-saharan users. Closest biggest African countries oth that are Nigeria and Kenya with an estimated collective market of around 400K.
Brazil on the other hand nets around 24-million subs, meaning that their Top 10 is possibly around 4-million to crack. So, by being in the top 10 this week, it means #The Polygamist has been seen by millions there.
Blood & Water peaked at number 2 on the Brazillian Top 10 for its Season 1 and made history by hitting number 1 in May 2020 on the US Top 10 — the US has over 92-million subscribers. It was also number 1 in France which has over 14-million subscribers.
The Polygamist is number 1 in countries and sits in the Top 10 in 50 countries per lists available today as I write this. And yes — that includes Brazil Top 10.
Keep spreading the word about #ThePolygamist 🇿🇦. The show is making waves not just on hype but artistic merit as well.
*Note:
Netflix Top 10 lists referenced here are lists captured in real-time. The lists are subject to change by day tallies as viewers log in and out.
Without actual verified views numbers one can only make an assumption on performance based on where a show sits on the lists. For e.g. A show can be number 1 within a country with 10 accounts that day, while another could be number 9 on a different day when 1000 logged-in in that territory — that obviously means the number 9 show is performing better.
So, in fairness, we can all just speculate until Netflix says how many views each show gets. The best method to gauge is how long a show stays in the Top 10 within the top markets hence I use US, Brazil and France is a tool.

Blood Sisters 2 dropped 5 June, a Nigeria series failed to get into the Netflix top 10 globally. If your influence is that great why couldn’t you give yourself global audience ?.
Also, Sarah is a victim! She acted out in a hurtful way because she needed to prove to herself that she is just as good as her sister and could get at least one thing her sister did (yes, it was wrong). That’s what a lifetime of lying gets you. She had to watch her siblings be treated well and acknowledged by her father while he pretended she didn’t exist. She couldn’t even enjoy the same luxuries they had because her parents convinced her she had to lie all her life while she her siblings got everything they wanted
Because she was looking for male validation anywhere she could get it. She confused genuine parental love with romantic love because her father hasn’t shown her either, and knew what Magesh did for her was out of love, she probably just didn’t know which one…
Joyce is more upset at Essie because she confided in her and trusted her. How are you in my life for almost 20 years and sleeping with my husband and not telling me you’re married to him? Men will absolutely disappoint you, but why are you helping him deceive me and my children?😭
We declare that this day be blessed. No weapon formed against us shall prosper. Goodness and mercy are following us, opportunities are aligning for us, and everything we touch prospers through Your powers. In Jesus’ glorious and miraculous name, we pray.
Amen!
