reality check: time blindness is not a disability, it is not even a medical symptom.
it’s a description of executive dysfunction. it’s not a unique or unmanageable problem. i also experience executive dysfunction. all people are flawed but we are not all disabled
I simply don’t believe these people are helpless to address and fix these issues
My husband has ADHD and is a successful lawyer and is always on time. He has to put crazy systems in place that I don’t need but he makes it happen
His siblings are all ADHD, some classified as “severe” and they’re all doctors or lawyers who got through rigorous grad school and are able to be on time
It’s a handicap that requires you to work harder and differently to others. It doesn’t make you a helpless victim who can’t do anything
habitually wasting your friend's time and then firing back at them with "well why don't you just start lying to my face???" is bad and you should feel bad.
I can help with this.
There’s actually a mountain of criminology on this called the “generality of deviance.
Offenders don’t specialize.
The same low self-control that makes someone steal a trashcan in public, also bleeds into every other domain of their life.
The brazen public act isn’t separate from who someone is at work, it’s probably who they are at work but no one knows yet.
The employer is getting ahead of a person they know will be or already is a bad employee.
Hope that helps.
🚨 JUST IN: Stephen Miller says it PERFECTLY
"A vote for any Democrat ANYWHERE, for ANY office, is empowering a party that wants to strip this country to the BONE, to take away our security, our defense, our way of life!"
"Just tonight, I saw a Democrat member of Congress online defending the Antifa terrorists in Texas who were just jailed for shooting an ICE officer!"
"Democrats you grew up with, the Democrats that your mom and dad grew up with, the Democrats that your grandma and grandpa grew up with do not exist anymore at all, not at any level of government!"
@StephenM
all the lefties complain about wanting “a village” and hating “individualistic culture” but will perpetrate the most anti-social behavior ever time after time because they’re allergic to accepting personal responsibility for literally anything ever
If I told you that you had to be somewhere at 7am to collect a cheque for a £1 million and if you were even 1 minute late you wouldn’t get it, you’d be there, in fact you’d probably get there early. You just don’t respect other people’s time enough which is a character flaw.
stop acting as if you're standing up for us by telling us we should be even more accepting of inconsiderate behavior that makes many of us miserable than we already are.
"Think of the neurodivergent people" never seems to mean thinking about the autistic guy racking his brain to figure out what he must have done wrong to make people think he deserves to be jerked around, you know?
And I'm not saying you're obliged to give a damn about us. Just
