Took a flight last year from JFK to Seattle. Pilot diverted up over Maine, into Canada, back down to US over Wisconsin. Explained as we took off that we shouldn't lose much time but he felt more comfortable taking a scenic route around some nasty thunderstorms. Nobody complained. We should not complain when professionals make decisions with our safety in mind.
