An interesting day at the Scottish Mathematical Council conference promoting Play Along Maths family learning. Thanks to Mr McLellan and Miss Melly for allowing us to share their successes from @vincents_st and nice to see Jack from our STEM Space project!
Primary 2 have begun learning gymnastics during PE. This week, we focused on balance, focus and control as we practised some new moves. Well done Primary 2 ๐คธ๐ผ #successfullearners
P2 really enjoyed their visit to Thornliebank Library this morning! A big thank you to Ellie for reading us a story and showing us the books โบ๏ธ We canโt wait to start reading the books we have chosen! ๐คฉ๐๐ #readingforenjoyment
P2 used their knowledge and skills about the weather, prediction and measurement and applied them in a new and challenging context by creating rain gauges. For once, we are happy about the rain this week so we can assess the progress of our experiment! #IDL#STEM
P2 were all engaged, working hard and having fun in numeracy today! They chose their favourite strategy that they had learned (arrays, repeated addition or equal grouping) and used it to help them with multiplication, showing their working using cheerios! @glasgowcounts
P2/1 and P2 have been learning to estimate and measure accurately. Some children asked if we could go outdoors to measure parts of our outdoor space which we enjoyed doing ๐ณ๐ชต๐ #childled#personalisationandchoice
Primary 2 and 2/1 learned how to tie knots, use a hammer safely, insert tent pegs and transport materials in a wheelbarrow. The weather was very windy but that didnโt stop us. S even managed to create his own hammock to relax in after his shelter was built! Well done everyone ๐๐ผ
P2/1 and P2 worked together to create dens. Firstly, they identified materials necessary to ensure the shelters would keep them dry. Then they planned their designs before going outdoors to build them. Lots of problem solving, collaboration and resilience on show!#outdoorlearning
Primary 2 and 2/1 were very intrigued to find a pot of porridge in the open area. Who could have left it there? ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธThe children came up with lots of adjectives to describe the porridge. Now to read The Magic Porridge Pot. #talkforwriting#PieCorbett
These Primary 2 children worked collaboratively to find a quarter of a quantity, using the bar model strategy. They could also confidently explain their working. Well done P2! #successfullearners#confidentindividuals@glasgowcounts
This superstar from Primary 2 was completing โsuper challengesโ when I visited his class this morning. He could confidently explain how he calculated his answers, using a hundred square to help him. Well done O! ๐๐ป #proudHT#numeracy
