Does anyone know of a website or computer program that’s like a whiteboard so I can share my screen on Teams and the children can watch me show them how to work out a maths question? I know I could just load up SMART but wondering if there’s something better. Thank you!
Hi @GavinWilliamson, Education was given 1 nights notice to roll out remote learning and have done superbly.
In the event of any issues, the blame lies solely with you.
Parents wishing to complain at your utter incompetence should email
[email protected]
The “But I know of another school doing XYZ so why aren’t you?” messages from parents have been flooding in today. Its so disheartening when we are all trying our best under different circumstances. A bit of understanding and appreciation wouldn’t go a miss!
**PARENTS** If you are happy with your child’s school, please tell them! While you’re at it, tag in @Ofstednews and tell them too! Schools don’t need enemies with a leader like @GavinWilliamson. They need that support right now!
If as a parent you are happy with what your child/ren’s school is providing for remote learning, you could always let Ofsted know.

Last year we enforced (as best we could) distancing between children including separate tables, equipment etc. We have been told this won’t be happening this time around. Is this similar to other schools?
@EamonnHolmes A few thoughts:
- To those who say supermarket workers etc have to work, so should teachers - supermarket workers have done an amazing job but large, airy buildings with limits on those entering, perspex screens & distancing is not the same as being in a 6x6m room with 30 kids.
These will be my first 6 reads of 2021 alongside a few fiction books I have on my Kindle. Excited! Already started Tiny Beautiful Things - enjoying it so far 😊
Secondaries are closed because most teens can be left at home whilst parents work.
Primaries are open because parents won't be able to work if children aren't at school.
The decision isn't about health, it's about the economy (as ever!)
@miss__knight That makes much more sense! We sit in bubbles remotely for staff meetings so not sure why they insist on INSET being all together 🤔. And we all know visors without masks are not massively effective!
We are doing this on Monday but with visors rather than masks. There are 30+ of us. I don’t feel like it should be this way when we have staff meetings via Teams so can easily access the training this way!
