@AdoptionsUk She’s a very pretty girl. That face 🥰. I hope Lily finds a home where she has the best retirement. The previous owners should be ashamed 😡
Very urgent, please retweet to help 2 dogs stay together, owner terminally ill #YORKSHIRE#UK 10 May 2026
APPEAL FOR FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME
This is a VERY urgent, and heartbreaking appeal to reunite 2 heartbroken girls 💔🚨
Meet Staffy cross WILLOW 🤎🌾… she came into kennels this week and is truly one of the most heartbreaking intakes we have had … not because she’s been neglected - anything but 🤎 Willow is so loved, and has been so well cared for by her mum (who rescued her herself), but due to a terminal diagnosis, she contacted us desperate for help with Willow as she may be moving into a hospice soon 😔
It was heartbreaking for her mum to leave her at kennels - poor Willow knew what was happening too and is understandably now beside herself and so so anxious 😓🤎
Here’s the even more upsetting situation where we need to appeal for your help… we only had room to take Willow, and her mum has another dog Roxy … but as we have dogs booked to come in, we couldn’t take her too - their mum thought they were not overly bonded, so could be seperated, but given how anxious Willow is, and knowing how depressed Roxy is now without her, we know that we urgently need to reunite these poor girls ASAP 🚨😔
A HUGE ask, but if anyone out there can offer a foster/home to help these heartbroken girls this really would mean the world not only to Willow and Roxy, but also to their mum who needs to know that both her girls are safe, happy and cared for and not have to worry about them at such a difficult time 🤎😔🤎
PLEASE, please get in touch if you can offer these poor girls a foster home so that they can be together (our kennels are much too small to fit both girls in together!!) 🚨🚨🚨 - Helping Yorkshire Poundies Rescue, registered British Charity

Roxy and Willow, please share wherever you are to help them stay together #UK
🚨 NEW: Sir Jim Ratcliffe is relocating around 1,100 long-standing Manchester United season-ticket holders from the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand at Old Trafford to create a new premium hospitality section. The luxury areas will offer three-course meals at Gordon Ramsay’s Lucky Cat restaurant, champagne and other high-end perks for corporate clients at £315–£425 per head. Around 600 fans have already been moved, with the rest expected next season; displaced supporters are being offered alternative seats, often breaking up family groups.
The decision has angered loyal fans, including 76-year-old Tony Riley, whose family has held the same engraved seat since 1949. Many feel “turfed out” in favour of the “prawn sandwich brigade”, while season-ticket prices are still rising 5% with no discounts elsewhere.

Please retweet, more dogs and puppies dumped in #Birmingham today!! #UK
Why isn't this pet crisis in the media? 💔💔💔
Today has been one of those days that truly highlights the scale of the welfare challenges we are currently facing across the West Midlands.
This morning, not one but seven Mali X puppies were found dumped in a box and brought into our care. Alongside them came a three-legged Staffie Cross who is painfully thin, with cuts to his face and fear written all over him, and a small terrier who arrived badly matted, dirty and passing blood in his urine.
All of these dogs came through our doors today.
Each of them will have their own story and their own experiences that have led them here, but what they all share is the urgent need for safety, compassion and immediate support. As soon as they arrived, our team carefully assessed them, administered the first aid they required, and ensured they had everything they needed in those crucial first hours, warm beds, fresh water, nourishing food and, just as importantly, gentle reassurance to help them begin to feel secure.
Days like this are emotionally heavy, but they also shine a light on the extraordinary dedication of our staff who respond without hesitation, always placing the dogs’ welfare at the centre of everything they do. We are incredibly proud of the calm professionalism, resilience and kindness shown by our team when faced with situations like this, and of the steady, often unseen work that goes into helping each dog start their recovery journey.
To every dog who arrived with us today, you are safe now, and we will do everything in our power to give you the care, stability and future you deserve.
If you would like to support the ongoing care of dogs like these, your donations and shares make a genuine difference, particularly at a time when the number of complex welfare cases continues to increase.

My husband died in July 2025. We had shared a life for thirty-two years. After he was gone, the house didn’t just feel empty—it felt hollow, like the walls themselves were holding their breath.
My son told me I needed something to take care of. I told him I was managing.
I wasn’t.
On a quiet Sunday—January 18th, 2026—I drove to the local shelter. I didn’t go there looking for a dog. I just couldn’t bear another afternoon sitting alone in that stillness.
A volunteer stopped me near the kennels for senior dogs. She said gently, “These two have been here almost six months. Their fee is waived now, but no one’s interested.”
Arthur He was eight and walked like every step had to be negotiated with time itself.
Rowan was tan with a dark patch over one eye. He couldn’t hear. He was also eight.
They were brothers.
Their person had surrendered them after falling gravely ill at 81. They’d never been apart. They’d waited—quietly—together.
I asked why no one wanted them.
She didn’t sugarcoat it. “They’re older. Medical needs. And they have to go as a pair. Most people want young dogs.”
I watched Arthur lower himself slowly onto a blanket. Rowan followed immediately, pressing his head into his brother’s shoulder like it was the most natural thing in the world. No signals. No sound. Just trust.
It felt achingly familiar.
I asked, “What’s the adoption fee?”
She smiled sadly. “There isn’t one. No one’s taken them.”
I said, “I will.”
She looked up. “Both of them?”
“Yes,” I said. “I won’t split up two old souls who’ve already lost their person.”
That was a week ago.
Now Arthur sleeps on my husband’s side of the bed. Rowan sleeps on mine.
The house isn’t silent anymore. It’s filled with slow footsteps, soft breaths, and two steady presences waiting for me at the door.
They lost the one who loved them.
I lost the one who loved me.
Somehow, in all that loss, we found our way home together.
