Happy half term! I’m travelling 2.5 hours down the motorway to see my best friend who I haven’t seen since Easter. Hope you all have a restful break!

I'm not sure who needs to hear this but with half term looming, give yourself permission to not do any school work. Using the time for rest and recovery is not selfish. And if you need someone to say this - I give you permission to do no work next week! #YouGotThis

Today, the boy in my class from Ukraine gave me the biggest hug. In the same week that his mom, during parents evening, took my hands into hers and kept repeating “thank you, thank you.”

Teaching is so tough at times but moments like this make it all worth it.

Second night of parent evening appointments tonight. Last night was great and it was lovely to see the parents and how proud we all are of their kids. Fingers crossed tonight goes smoothly as well 🤞🏻

@DeputyGrocott I went to see the killers at Coventry. Manic Street Preachers were our warm up act and they came on about 7:15ish. The Killers were on at 8:45ish. Hope that helps! You’ll have a great time. The Killers were amazing!

@Das_Fisch Completely ridiculous! Probably that teachers have “failed” in catching these kids up. Actually, I think we’ve all done a good job at getting these kids settled, learning again and able to sit these useless tests after so much disruption.

Just like to say thanks to the DfE for raising the expected mark for the KS1 SATS.
Up by 2 marks for maths and 1 mark for reading compared to 2019. These are the kids that haven’t had a full year of school yet! #ks1sats #ks1

And that’s even after focusing on their social and emotional well-being which they all desperately needed after numerous lockdowns and isolations.

It was going to be hard enough anyway to get these kids to where they need to be based on how many gaps they had.

I’m writing my Year 1s first in alphabetical order and then my Year 2s in alphabetical order. I’m petrified of missing one! 😂

And so the report writing begins. First 3 done this morning. Now I’m going to spend my afternoon reading.

Quick question for all you experienced report writers out there. Is there a specific order that you do them in? Like by ability or just alphabetical order? #edutwitter
