We are currently unable to take on casework, and so have done our best to signpost to other services, however these services do not provide the same level of support, and according to those we've tried to signpost, are severely lacking capacity.

MIST is a badly needed service in the West Midlands, following the shocking closure of ASIRT. This has been highlighted again for the team in the past few weeks, as we've begun to receive requests from migrants in desperate need of assistance with applications to the Home Office.

We have an initial target of raising £5000 to cover set-up costs, and bring the work we have planned into fruition.

We're proud to be invited by @BirminghamUCU to speak re huge planned hikes of visa application and health surcharge fees.

If implemented, this will force people further into debt, leaving more at risk of exploitation and modern slavery.

1) we could both have a flexible set of governing rules to make us a co-op and ensure directors cannot needlessly shut down MIST.

2) we could apply for regular charitable funding streams, just like we did previously as ASIRT.

WE'RE REGISTERED WITH THE FCA!

This morning the team were celebrating the amazing news that we're OFFICIALLY registered!

This is a huge step in the journey to getting back to what we do best - representing clients for free, sorting out their immigration status!
