The 43 held its second Precinct Iftar. It was a great night giving thanks to our muslim officers and community members who have made this Ramadan safe and peaceful .
Shah Mahmood Qureshi
Vice Chairman PTI
Former Foreign Minister of Pakistan
Dear Pakistanis,
As I write this letter from the confines of Kot Lakhpat Jail, where I remain incarcerated in
solitary confinement, my spirit remains unshaken and unwavering in loyalty to Pakistan.
The events of the past few days have once again exposed the belligerence and
aggression of India.
India, without evidence or justification, continues its unlawful and provocative actions under the guise of unsubstantiated claims. Pakistan has demonstrated maturity, restraint and moral clarity in the face of this hostility.
The press conference jointly addressed by the representatives of the Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy on Friday 9th May was a moment of national pride.
The calm, dignified and factual manner in which our armed forces communicated the
reality to the nation and the world earned respect at a global level. The clarity of purpose, coupled with professionalism and grace underscored Pakistan’s commitment to peace,
sovereignty and self respect.
In our response to Indian escalatory actions, targeting military assets and ensuring no civilian harm, the world must see that Pakistani does not seek war, but will never shy awayfrom defending its people, its soil and its honour.
In these decisive moments, all of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, its supporters and the citizens
of Pakistan stood firmly like an iron wall, united behind our defenders. Pakistan first
always.
I served as Foreign Minister when Pakistan faced similar trials- when Pulwama was
exploited to manufacture a false flag narrative. I stood before the global community and defended Pakistans truth, dignity and rights. Today, I do the same, from behind bars, with the same resolve. I salute the brave men and women who continue to put their lives on the line for us all. I salute the people of Pakistan who despite economic hardships, political turmoil and global challenges, remain resolute, courageous and proud.
In times of adversity, true nations are tested - and true nations rise. Pakistan has once
again shown the world that we are not weak, not divided and not afraid.
Pakistan and India have agreed to ceasefire and meet to discuss the way forward. I urge an internal political ceasefire to initiate a national dialogue on the existential challenges confronting Pakistan and putting our in house in order.
Long Live our People
Long Live our Motherland.
Pakistan Zindabad.

Appreciation to the Muslim Officers Society for the invitation to speak at their membership meeting to focus on recruitment and retention. Today, united with our members of service and esteemed community guests, we discussed strategies for attracting and retaining Muslim talent.
For a man who devoted 41 years of service to New York City, one would be forgiven to think Chief Gerald Nelson was a man of the western frontier - rarely without his signature cowboy boots and calling colleagues “young buck.” To have the Chief refer to you by that moniker was a badge of honor. And as a young police executive privileged to serve under his direct command for nearly half a decade, it was a nickname worn with pride.
Chief Nelson was a giant of a figure in the NYPD, and those under his tutelage came to appreciate his strong command presence balanced against the hidden jokester that he was. To say he was a “character” would be an understatement.
Chief Nelson was amongst the best leaders I worked for, firmly conveying expectations but knowing when a lighthearted touch was necessary - a management style that upon reflection, I undoubtedly mimic to some degree.
Chief Gerald Nelson’s untimely passing is a gut punch to all who knew him and to all who adored him. I count myself lucky to have known him as the boss, but also as a friend and fellow “young buck.”
Rest in Peace Chief.
Wishing #Eid Mubarak to everyone around the world 🌍. May God accept your fasting and bless you with health, more happiness and wealth.
