I knew I’d need a real röcker to guest on this one so I recruited Jon from Øbelisk who more than delivered, giving the song not just one but two solos that kick an insane amount of ass.
‘The Obsidian Gospel’ Track-by-Track 3/8
“The Obsidian Gospel”
The title track for this record needed to encapsulate everything I love about heavy metal and I think I did a serviceable job. The intro is overtly borrowed from Black Sabbath’s “Children of the Grave”.
from the fashion to the lifestyle to the lyrical themes at large. It contains direct references to bands like Obituary, High on Fire, Judas Priest, and more.
Thanks to Andrew at Grade A Explosives for playing my song “Vote for the Goat” from my new album ‘The Obsidian Gospel’ on the latest episode of the show. Check it out at the link.

“Edgeguard”
The opening track on my new record was actually the last one written for the album. I wanted to write something heavily focused on d-beats, primarily thanks to utilizing them a lot in my band Ratpiss.
The solo on this track was written by my good friend Marshall who currently plays bass in D.T.. I knew this song would be perfect for his style after years of watching him play guitar in a number of different punk bands in Montreal. R.I.P. Stand Alone.
Things are already heating up at Weather Manufactory Outpost MW-18. Working on composing drums for new songs. Before there is another full length record there will be a salvo of smaller releases to come between now and next year. Keep an eye on that weathervane.

We’re sad to hear that Thrashcan has closed its doors. We’ve played the stage at this space countless times and I personally count it as one of my favourite venues in eastern Canada. A sincere thank you to the folks at Thrashcan for keeping it open as long as they did.
Just wanted to say a quick thank you to all the folks who picked up my new record ‘The Obsidian Gospel’ this past week for Bandcamp Friday. If you picked it up, thank you! It means a lot to me.
