Meet Seri! She came to us full of fight, charging at everyone and everything in her periphery – passing Keepers, flying birds, even bales of lucerne. Given time to decompress, she slowly began to settle.

Seri has always been remarkably comfortable around bulls. When ex-orphan Laikipia visited soon after her rescue, she calmly planted herself between his forelegs and even half-heartedly attempted to suckle from him! Today, she is often found alongside Hildana, Kilulu and even Ndotto during his visits.

Seri is also a true water baby, loving to swim, wallow, splash and bask. So relaxed is she that she’s invariably late for everything!

Please share this as widely as possible to put pressure on Karen Bass to allow safe efforts.

In Malibu many homes have been evacuated for 3-4 days. Owners have not been allowed in to get their pets; cats, dogs, rabbits… the animals have now been trapped for 3-4 days without food or sufficient water. A team has been going in and saving the animals (many residents have specifically asked us to go into their home and save their pets, giving instructions for where to find them) but now the national guard and law enforcement is preventing anyone from passing a perimeter.

There is NO eminent fire danger but they are not letting rescue efforts through. We have a press pass and are still disallowed. Of course the crew is still going in, but now it’s under cover of darkness thus far more dangerous, and far less effective.

I understand the gangs-of-looters problem, from which they are trying to protect us, but these are legitimate crews with permits. Animal control can’t do it because they’re technically not allowed to break windows or doors. This team is the only hope the animals have.

Please help me put pressure on our elected officials to allow safe rescue efforts by a team with permits and expertise. It’s hundreds of trapped animals who won’t live much longer without food and water.
