The Slave Trader Who Became a SIave

Ayuba Diallo was born in 1701 in what is now Senegal 🇸🇳. His father was a sIave trader, and Diallo helped him with the business as he grew older. However, during one of his trips, Diallo's life changed dramatically.

He was captured by European traders, chained alongside the slaves he was trying to sell, and taken to America. In Maryland, Diallo refused to accept that he was now a sIave.

Diallo was different from many other slaves because he could read and write in Arabic. He used this skill to write a letter to his father, asking for help to gain his freedom. When his owner found out, he realized that Diallo came from a royal family.

This discovery changed everything. Diallo was sent to England, where he was finally freed. Later, he returned to Africa but surprisingly went back to trading slaves.

Diallo's story is a remarkable one, and it highlights the complexities of the slave trade and its impact on people's lives.
