The biblical motif of “we like sheep” is comparable — the “lush” environments we want so badly usually aren’t the best for us, because we often indulge ourselves in all the vices available. It’s the semi-arid ones, circumstantially, where we find both sufficiency and contentment.

Doing some research on sheep, and this was interested to me...

Fascinatingly, sheep actually thrive not in lush environments, but in semi-arid ones. How so? In semi-arid conditions, there are less flies and less predators. Though there is less food and drink, it’s sufficient.
