Not true at all
Similiar thing happened to me, albeit on a much smaller scaler.
Had 2 x separate 3rd party tests showed negative, yet customers still got sick.
So yes it does happen.
And it does show that you "have never ran a brand"
The amount of young ecom bros (or wannabes) saying how terrible people are for commenting on a pretty serious outbreak of a contaminated supply of a health and wellness brand is funny to me
I had a lot of people see my post as hating on the founder. I bet the founder is legit. I have never met him, I don't know him.
"bet you don't even own a brand" OK BRO
The problem is that we really need to make sure our promises in marketing = the end experience.
If you say '3rd party tested' in your marketing and you have customers getting sick from product = not 3rd party tested. Or else maybe not all lot numbers are.
I really like how Spencer from Evolve talks about being high valence. High valence = high integrity. It's important to make promises we can keep and make sure our product actually does what it says it will do.
This also means that the product is safe.
I really imagine the founder, I think his name is Luka is legit and hard working and a good human. I am sure that the brand will be just fine in the end, especially at its scale.
It's a learning lesson for the founders to up their quality control process in the future.
It takes a lot of work and effort to scale to 9 figures. Few brands get there, so bravo to them to get there.
Onward and upward, probably won't be much of a memory hopefully in 6-12 months.
