No recommendations for criminal charges have been made by the Integrity Commission following its investigation into allegations of corruption at the Firearm Licensing Authority, FLA.

This is despite the Commission's claim that the agency's licensing database was deliberately manipulated to plant fabricated ammunition records against a gun dealer.

This is detailed in a report from the IC tabled in the House of Representatives on Tuesday.

The 131-page report clears the FLA of the most explosive allegation, that guns and thousands of rounds had vanished from its vaults.

But it faults the FLA for weak record-keeping and the falsification of a dealer's records.

According to the Commission, this conduct, on its face, amounts to a cybercrime.

Executive Director of the Integrity Commission, IC, Craig Beresford, is calling on legislators to amend the IC Act to strengthen the capabilities of the institution.

Beresford was speaking at a media briefing on the first day of the Commonwealth Caribbean Association of Integrity Commissions and Anti-Corruption Bodies Conference at the ROK Hotel in downtown Kingston on Monday.

His words come in the midst of controversy surrounding the non-tabling of an IC report in parliament concerning the Firearm Licensing Authority, FLA.

The matter led to Beresford himself penning a letter to the Houses of Parliament formally urging them to table the report.
