@monkersthecat@MattWalshBlog That’s the point, where is your line at which someone is not worth being born? It’s arbitrary and always morally wrong. What makes your definition of when an unborn child has dignity over someone else’s?
@oopmouth11@PJ11986386@megbasham@McJuggerNuggets Are you against child sex trafficking? Do you think child abuse is wrong? Until I see you personally rescuing victims and adopting them, you can’t claim it’s morally wrong.
Do you see how stupid that sounds?
@NicholasCTait@ArtofJanelle@MattWalshBlog Think about the implications of what you’re saying. By that rationale anyone who becomes sick or injured should be terminated.
Also where is your line for justifying murder? Polydactyly? Go ahead, wouldn’t want a person to live with that. cleft palate? Well that’s just cruel!
@NicholasCTait@MattWalshBlog So if they found out about the diagnosis after birth they could just dump them in the trash all the same?
Absolute morality exists. Murder is never justified. If you’d like to claim moral relativism, go right ahead but acknowledge everything that world view entails.
@monkersthecat@MattWalshBlog So would you be ok with any reason they had for terminating their child?? Cleft palate? Short? Female?
When we can one day estimate physical and cognitive attributes from genetic testing, are you ok with couples aborting until they get a 6 foot, high IQ man or w/e they want?
@DukeTheImpaler@MattWalshBlog So you must respect any decision anyone makes?
What if they found out about the diagnosis after the birth? Could they decide to terminate the child then?
@BradleyRawkStar@MattWalshBlog No what Jesus said.
“Stop judging according to outward appearances; rather judge according to righteous judgment.”
-John 7:24
@Belleruin@Bkakma@BradleyRawkStar@MattWalshBlog That means don’t judge hypocritically, like the context of the entire sermon.
John 7:24
“Stop judging according to outward appearances; rather judge according to righteous judgment.”
@Belleruin@BradleyRawkStar@MattWalshBlog That doesn’t mean affirming evil. Mercy is for the repentant.
Read the rest of the sermon. You will be judged *by the measure* you judge others. Remove the plank from your own eye *first* so *then* you can remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
We are to judge righteously
@patristicpill That is exactly the gatekeeper of grace! Jesus says *believe*. It’s the entire gospel message. Did you just want the old Jewish system with new laws and Jesus came down just to proclaim it?
@CatholicDrip___ You can if you don’t understand it because you’re only there for free bread and not seeking truth, the exact thing Jesus was calling them out for…
@CatholicDrip___ Actually read john 6. It’s an entire passage where Jesus rebukes people for not believing in him and only wanting literal bread. Strange he would say out of nowhere that you must eat his body unless it was figurative like almost all of his teachings to point out their thinking
@CatholicDrip___ Ok he also literally says eat his body and drink his blood. Laity couldn’t take the cup for hundreds of years and most still don’t today. So I guess no one is saved?
@KickPistons If you truly think that idk what to tell you. You just think that scripture is just what people wrote down about doctrines like the catechism?
It’s God’s literal word breathed out through inspired authors. RC beliefs make way more sense knowing they think scripture is man-made
