Anyone deploying capital leverage to legal AI right now will look like a genius.
The more capital, the more genius.
But the scores won’t be clear until someone falls over their skis.
All GIF pickers have enshittified. The GIFs are mostly NFTs, but also most movie/tv clips have been scrubbed defeating the purpose. Need a new competitor that don't GAF
Plugged photogrammetry into a Unity sample and added a CRT filter, could be a fun way to build photo realistic virtual worlds from scans and get away with it. A little spooky/lonely though.
Very stoked about my next adventure. I’ve joined Spellbook, but not as CTO.
I’m joining as an Executive IC. It probably means different things to different people. It means I'm here to build and be hands on in every part of the company.
I've invested and been advising and getting to know @scottastevenson and the team for more than a year. At some point it became obvious the most useful thing I could do was stop talking about ideas and go work with the team.
With AI making code cheap to copy, what's going to be hard to copy is the shape of a company. How a team learns, decides, and ships. That's what I want to work on. It's what I've spent the last three decades learning to do.
Why Spellbook? The world has entered into one of the largest investment cycles in decades. Trillions of dollars are being deployed into energy, AI, manufacturing, transportation and the modernization of critical global systems. Despite this, progress still moves at the speed of contracts. Spellbook’s mission is to modernize the $1 trillion transactional legal market so the contract system can keep pace with the global economy.
At the same time, every contract ever signed is becoming searchable, comparable, and weaponizable by counterparties, regulators, and plaintiffs' lawyers. You will be attacked.
We're hiring. Slight bias toward Canada, but remote-friendly for great talent.

Big learning today as I play with cloud coding agents:
The more apps I connect my cloud agents to, the smaller prompt I need.
I was an MCP sceptic but connecting apps to one coding agent then kicking it off with its own computer is incredible.
Before I had to give it a ton of rules and babysit it.
Now I point it at a Slack thread and say: "Go". It does parallel Datadog, LaunchDarkly, Raindrop, and Slack queries then produces a small fix.
If you're finding yourself typing huge tickets with tons of requirements in a giant PRD to fix small issues, your coding agent might be missing context from other apps.
Excellent reporting by @MTemkin at @TechCrunch on how AI companies are inflating revenue by reporting CARR as ARR.
Please retweet so that we can get back to reality and permanently kill CARR as a valuation anchor. Delusion is not good for anyone.
"One VC told TechCrunch that he has seen companies where CARR is 70% higher than ARR, even though a significant chunk of that contracted revenue will never actually materialize."
“Investors can’t call it out,” a VC told TechCrunch. “Everyone has a company monetizing CARR as ARR.”
The biggest thing that has surprised me since my tweet went viral was the amount of nervous, sheepish laughter from VCs on the topic:
"Haha... Oh, I'm not sure if it's that big a deal 🙂"
While other VCs say privately:
"We see this constantly and it's becoming a serious problem."

An alien who is in the U.S. temporarily and wants a Green Card must return to their home country to apply.
This policy allows our immigration system to function as the law intended instead of incentivizing loopholes.
The era of abusing our nation’s immigration system is over.
@raunakdoesdev@DamiDina@DevinAI I think it’s just… claude? I’ve been using Cursor automations and was also pleasantly surprised. We have a few prompts hunting for slow CI and common anti patterns the linter doesn’t catch. Its hit rate is incredible. Models getting better was the unlock.
kinda nuts the Vercel AI SDK has no story for durable jobs outside of their proprietary workflows product. I'm making agents that run for 30 mins but if the worker dies it's just over and there's no way to reconcile
@jeffbarg I just want a docs page that tells me what to do is all. I'm reverse engineering @temporalio ai-sdk. Seems like they do it on the provider level which is basically that
