@c_gro Got fired, began a brand strategy consultancy for startups, worked on a sustainable wipes company that turned into my client asking me to be his co-founder. That’s become https://t.co/kbEfYMmq9G, the fastest growing sexual wellness brand in Target, Walmart, CVS.
Option C: Double down on growth with a clear acknowledgment of the loss.
The key being to pull them apart and not let them all merge together.
It’s TOUGH. #vc#startup#vcfunding
Thought of the day: Growth and profitability, at the same time is TOUGH.
Narrative every founder’s seemingly facing:
2020 VC-backed startup: ‘Grow grow grow!’
2021: ‘Keep the foot on the gas, negative EBITDA no problem.’
https://t.co/Gx1ym10Aa4
2022: ‘Let’s keep 100% YoY growth, but let’s make move toward profitability.’
2023: ‘Profitabilty, profitability, profitability! But also…keep up that 100% YoY growth!’
Recommendation: Scenario plan with your VCs before selecting option.
Option A: Here’s what a major swing to profitability looks look, including and the impact on growth (flat or slight, but not 100% YoY growth).
Option B: A balance of some EBITDA improvements (half the loss) and Growth (50% YoY growth).
#5. Never leave the ball in their court. It’s easier for an investor to say no than yes. So don’t give them the opportunity. End every call with, ‘As a next step I’d love to [ insert any next step here ] like meet my co-founder. Never say, ‘let us know if you want to invest.’
"The employees have got to believe in what they're doing and they've got to believe in the company."
GoDaddy's @DrBobParsons talks about sparking enthusiasm between his employees and customers.

3.) the borderline between work and sex is blurry at best. Often times you need an internal moral compass to help navigate the whole lot.
My guess: Playboy won’t bounce back until a new Hef steps in. And I pray she’s as epic. @nevmed@ShaanVP@theSamParr
I heard @myfirstmilpod talking about Playboy being a stock with potential. Without one clear vision, face and conviction to sell sex it’s mighty hard to do just that. (Looking at you Hef).
Trust me. I started a #sexcompany with no intention of being the face but sex is HARD.
1.) you can’t market traditionally on major social platforms but you CAN tell your own personal founder story (loophole…cough cough)
2.) sex can be awkward AF… until you share your own embarrassing stories, then no one will stop sharing theirs it seems.
