@LeaVerou The purpose of middle names in the US is for banking apps to ask me for my relatives' middle names. The bank achieves its usual goals: increasing my frustration while barely slowing down the bad guys.
@id24conf How do indicate the language of a subtitle track or closed caption track? Can you mix languages in a single track, and indicate the languages? #id24
@hdv When I look at a bug tracker, "zero open accessibility bugs" means they're not trying hard enough. The quest for optimal usability and interoperability is never done.
@hdv Choosing a widget library I would fully test a few components, then see how they've tracked and handled past #a11y bugs in Github or other public tracker. If I only need a single component, then fully evaluate it, and also check bug history. Important to prevent future bit rot.
@thebillygregory Any definition of 10x must include some measure of quality, and inaccessible = bugs. So a developer calling themselves 10x without #a11y could actually be a "Net Negative Producing" developer! https://t.co/dLSLdpGdlX
@russmaxdesign Nice! The results are very clearly presented. Did you get these results by tabbing to each form control, or by arrow navigation (down arrow on Windows screen readers; VO+RightArrow on VoiceOver)?
@ravenscimaven I said the D word "disability" which is not required and might provoke judgment, but if you can we need more people open about it. Another key point: what I need is not strange or unique; it only sounds strange if few people actually speak out for what they need.
@ravenscimaven When a company asked me to train a group of designers and developers on site, I added this to the contract...
"As a disability accommodation, the Presenter requests that the workshop sessions be isolated from outside speech and music. Complete silence is not required, but (1/3)
@ravenscimaven ...outside speech and music should be quiet enough so they are not understandable. (Note: This may also help participants stay focused and improve the quality of recordings.)" (2/3)
Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy announced Thursday that a "7-foot non-scalable fence" is being erected around the U.S. Capitol, and it will be in place for at least the next 30 days. https://t.co/BWzFX83OB5
