Baseball is such a cruel sport. It’s a companion every day for 6 months, a slow moving train of emotional investment that never leaves your consciousness because of its daily cadence. It’s what makes the losing streaks harder, the winning better. And then its just…over. It ends.
Pre-social media, there would have been a 15 minute segment about this on Sportscenter and I would have talked about it with friends for weeks. I sometimes miss when things became almost folklorish & things moved slower.
I feel like we forget things so quickly nowadays
