I want to thank so many of you who have reached out personally to congratulate us and assure us of your prayers. We are humbled and accept this opportunity for service knowing it is a stewardship for which we will give account. I want to congratulate my brother, Josh Powell, and his wonderful family for his exemplary conduct and efforts during this season.
My esteem for him has only grown and I know he will be a voice in Southern Baptist life for years to come. We need 1000 pastors like him.
I want to assure all Southern Baptists, those who voted for me and those who didn’t, that
our desire is to serve our Lord and you and my prayer is indeed that God will bring us into a season of reconciliation and renewal. It is my hope to listen and to serve and I ask for your prayers, your patience, and your continued cooperation as we continue in the good work God has given us to do.
Yearly reminder: the SBC Annual Meeting is a business meeting.
As a rule of thumb, you should be wary of anyone who tries to guilt-trip messengers for wanting to discuss the business of our cooperation during the one time a year we gather to discuss such matters.
@drandrewhebert@hunterbaker Important to remember that not everyone who disagrees with you and uses social media to advance their position is a conflict entrepreneur. No more so than how you use Baptist Review to advance yours.
Joined a new AI-native company this week and it’s kind of wild how different it feels already.
The laptop arrived, I logged in, and an agent basically took over from there. It set up my dev env, pulled repos, fixed dependency issues, got permissions approved, pointed me at the backlog, linked the architecture docs, and surfaced the Slack debates I actually needed to read before touching production.
When I needed context on something, I asked the agent and it found the exact thread from months ago explaining why a decision was made, who owned it, the related Linear issues, and the PRs connected to it.
I’ve only been here 3 days but it honestly feels like I’ve worked here for a year because the usual friction and scavenger hunt for context just isn’t there anymore.
We should probably stop calling this “onboarding” and rename it to “mounting” because this feels a lot more like mounting a distributed filesystem called “institutional memory” than slowly getting drip-fed context over 6 months.
‼️Every coach and leader should listen to this.
📢The success Indiana has achieved has not been an accident.

@JayHill53127@AdamPage85 I’m very sorry that happened to you. But that’s not attributable to a conservative political perspective. That’s horrible parenting and it can happen to children with parents that are anywhere on the political spectrum.
