@bruneski@SierraClub On behalf of @NRDC, thank you @bruneski for your vision, determination and allyship. What a difference it’s made. Keep up the fight!
Thank you @bruneski for being such a committed advocate for environmental protections and in the fight for climate justice. @SierraClub is a powerful force for positive change because of the effective team you’ve led. We look forward to your continued fight for a better future!
After 11 yrs, I am stepping down as ED of @SierraClub Proud to have worked w so many to replace fossil fuels w clean energy, support immigrant rights, stand w our allies in labor & civil rights mvmnts, defeat a toxic President, & more. Last day: 12/31. Dan Chu will be interim ED.
It’s time to put millions more people to work in clean energy with the help of Biden's #AmericanJobsPlan. These can & must be good-paying jobs and include low-income and communities of color and those who want to join a union. We’re calling on our lawmakers to make it happen.
U.S. now has "a clear plan to take real steps to finally address the economic costs of climate change & seize the economic opportunities that come with clean energy & climate action. There’s no more reason for excuses." - @bkeefee2 on Biden speech tonight https://t.co/B6G4j5lUKb
Yesterday, I joined over 150 world leaders calling on @POTUS Biden to take bold climate action to #BuildBackBetter toward a new future together. Read the full letter: https://t.co/ckukrIiVPE
The Senate must uphold their sworn oath to deliver impartial justice. A threat to the integrity of that system is a threat to our values, not only as environmental advocates but as citizens of this country. It’s a threat to our democracy. https://t.co/IpbPQUHAhg
NRDC mourns the loss of Bill Ruckelshaus, the first EPA administrator - an environmental champion, a dedicated public servant and a defender of democracy. https://t.co/1XITpJBtxv
In pulling out of the #ParisAgreement Trump is sending a message: he’s turning his back on the biggest environmental crisis of our time, breaking our promise to the rest of the world — and leaving our kids to pay the price. Read more in my @USAtoday op-ed: https://t.co/wfRlcjyOtY
Walking away from the Paris agreement is a grave mistake. We’ll all pay the price - none more than our children. Trump’s actions would abandon our children to a world of endlessly rising seas, vanishing species, and raging wildfires, storms and floods. We can’t let that happen.
Whose job is it to protect the environment—the states’ or the federal government’s? For President Trump, the answer depends on what he wants to pollute next. Read more in my latest blog for NRDC: https://t.co/Er9l3zy9wg
As a matter of environmental justice and a matter of prudent planning, an effective program for buying out damaged properties in flood-prone areas is an essential part of making our communities more resilient in the face of climate change. It’s time for us to get this right.
As communities begin to recover and rebuild following Hurricane Dorian, it's important to take a close look at exactly how our government is assisting those affected. As @NRDC 's new report on flood insurance buyouts shows, we can do much, much better. https://t.co/BICfLTImVK
Our new report shows that people with flood-damaged homes, often in low-income communities or among people of color, may have to wait up until FIVE YEARS federal buyout for flooded properties! That’s far too long, and gives people no choice but to remain in disaster-prone areas.
At the #G7Summit session on climate change, President Trump was noticeably absent. That’s not leadership. It’s a craven handout to the fossil fuel industry at the expense of our nation’s future. Read more in my new blog: https://t.co/4n3catHUTz
Las redadas contra familias inocentes por el gobierno Trump son inaceptables, indignantes y deshumanizantes. Estos miembros de nuestra comunidad merecen ser tratados con humanidad y decencia. Son una parte importante de nuestro país. Son nuestras familias.
The Trump Admin’s raids on innocent families are unacceptable, outrageous, & dehumanizing. These members of our community deserve to be treated with humanity & decency. They are an important part of our country. They are our families.
President Trump routinely and recklessly provokes race-based anger, hatred, and fear. And in habitually seeking to divide Americans along lines of ethnicity and race, he is violating core @NRDC values and putting our people at growing risk. https://t.co/3DFXTztdgQ
@NRDC and our coalition partners in the Bristol Bay region have been fighting Pebble Mine for a decade and we won't stop now. If/when the Trump administration moves forward to issue any permit to develop the Pebble Mine, we will see them in court. #StopPebbleMine
The Trump team has once again sided with polluter interests at the expense of our environment, this time moving to give over Alaska’s pristine Bristol Bay ecosystem to moneyed interests from the gold- and copper-mining industry. https://t.co/xng2cIRBYA
The region’s salmon serve as the lynchpin for the survival of hundreds of wildlife species, including grizzly bears, wolves, moose, and caribou, and underpins the livelihood and culture of Bristol Bay’s Native people and their communities.
