As #PublicHealth folks land in San Antonio for the @NACCHOalerts#PrepSummit25 conference, let's admit we're in a time of huge flux. We can't ignore it, we'll all be talking about it in the bars every night.
But I want to offer something different in my Tuesday session. No slides, just a chance to talk together about the long road here (it starts more than a hundred years ago), and how emerging doula frameworks can help us show up now to heal our communities.
@NYCTBus Hi - please fix the b67 stop code 306553 . we can never figure out when the bus is coming! google says one thing, your system another , none are correct and my kids are COLD
It’s going to take time to sort through what happened Tuesday. But I've read a lot of takes the past few days (some good, many bad), and I've had a lot of people ask how I won one of the toughest districts in the country by over 13%.
Here are some thoughts: 🧵
In 2020 I was one of 7 dems that won a district that Trump won, so I held a series of listening sessions with people who voted for Trump and voted for me to understand their actions. I reread the transcripts yesterday and much of it felt like it could have been said today. THREAD
In this featured series, authors discuss climate change from the lenses of epistemology, business, and politics. https://t.co/dgG5DPVbIx @LaurieAnnMazur, @mitchstripling, @the_jpants
Please don't be mean to each other. I know we will want to be. We cannot afford divisions. We can disagree with each other. But we cannot be mean to each other. We have to be kind. This is necessary. We lost. If we factionalize, we will become even weaker.
The biggest story of the night is Russia calling multiple bomb threats into Democratic strongholds across the country. This should shock every American to the core.
BREAKING: New York has passed #Prop1!
New Yorkers used their vote to permanently protect abortion statewide, and showed up for LGBTQ, immigrant, and disabled New Yorkers by approving the most progressive and comprehensive state Equal Rights Amendment in the country.
