reworking thumbnails on old videos is underrated
you’re giving the video a second chance to be clicked
better packaging can revive a video that was basically dead
MrBeast still does this at the highest level
thumbnails to $5k/month — day 12
the editor gets a testimonial
the thumbnail designer gets "can you make it pop more?"
one of us decides if the video lives or dies. the other just cuts to the beat
we both know who matters more
rate it 1–10 👇

what would it be?
thumbnail design, editing, branding - which would actually move the needle for you?
i want to hear from creators - what matters most?

sometimes I wonder if all this work - the choices, the tweaks, the instinct
could be done by a machine tomorrow.
does that make what we do replaceable, or just more human?
still, some things a thumbnail can’t teach a bot.
the subtle hesitation, the instinct, the tiny missteps that matter.

thumbnail designers don’t “relax”
we zoom out to 10% and ask:
“would a half-asleep 14 year old click this at 2am?”
if it works at 10%, it probably works on youtube.
if not, welcome back to layer 47.
