My team at Snyk is hiring an engineer. We work across the product looking for ways to reduce customer friction, increase stickiness, and shorten time to value all while measuring our impact via analytics. If you're looking for a challenge give me a ping. https://t.co/vYFclydPJI
I can't say how much this hits me in such a strange way. I clearly never met him but this tool influenced my career, even part identity (I'm a vim user), and it's something I still use to this day. I couldn't imagine having built something that impacts as many people as vim does.
@bigmaninjapan my son does this and I don't get it. He uses voice to text vs typing and just seems to like yelling at and being yelled at by his phone. I'm so confused.
@liran_tal It's crazy when I think of all the time spent trying to fix a test/bug and not being able to figure it out until I understood how all the parts worked together. Without that understanding all those things would have been unfixable...
@craigkerstiens might be a good book or at least a solid case study in there for you ;-) These are fun conversations. I've with with a bunch of teams at different places over the years and it's interesting to see how varied culture can be within teams in the same company much less beyond
@craigkerstiens Shipping is team culture. You have to build everything to support it. A culture of safety to ship/fail/learn, to think big enough but vague enough, to define working vertical slices that allow shipping frequently, and to get buy-in across stakeholders to think this way
Does anyone have 15 minutes to chat to me about Foundation DB's sharding/scaling model? Happy to pay for your time; just need a few minutes to ask some questions. DM if interested/available.
