India’s Election 2024 begins today. I wish PM Modi his greatest electoral success. I’ve supported him since 2014.
No government is perfect. But when I weigh the amazing achievements of his Govt in the last decade against its mistakes, for me the scale comes down decisively in its favour.
My other reasons are well stated by @authoramish

In 2004, BJP's #IndiaShining slogan bombed. There is some worry that the party's #AbkiBaar400Paar slogan is more hubris than substance, and 2024 could see BJP falling short again.
No one knows what EVMs will throw up on 4 June 2024. But there are key differences between the BJP of 2004 and 2024.
In 2004, BJP was led by a PM who was ill, visibly way past his prime and not in a position to personally lead his party's campaign across the country. People liked him, but he could not energise or enthuse them. The youth could also not connect to him.
Most other national leaders of BJP were young then, but they were also as laid back as the PM. To make it worse, they had convinced themselves that BJP had peaked in 1999, and could never get an absolute majority on its own. There was, thus, no attempt whatsoever, to expand the party and increase its seats and votes. The hard work of getting a majority was outsourced to allies and regional leaders of BJP, and the national leadership sat back and basked in the hubris created by the #IndiaShining slogan.
In 2024, the BJP has an indefatigable PM who, in his 10 years in office, has visited more constituencies more number of times than all previous PMs put together. He is more enthusiastic today than he was in 2014 and his connect with the people is evidently stronger than it was then.
For him #Abkibaar400paar is not merely a slogan to sell, and then sit back and settle for the absolute majority he won in 2014 and 2019. It is an objective that he has set for the NDA and he is personally sparing no effort to achieve it.
Before Modi became PM, the North East was considered unbreachable by the BJP. Thanks to his relentless outreach and efforts, Congress has almost been wiped out from there, despite its owners being seen as Christians in some states.
In 2024, the PM is determined to breach the Southern bastion. He has been working on it since 2014. His efforts did not yield desired results in 2019, but this time he is going all out. Mind you, he does not need to put in the almost super human effort he is, but unlike smaller leaders who can't think beyond achieving narrow immediate targets, he is looking way beyond 2024.
Despite the INDI Alliance having virtually crashed before take-off, the BJP is still trying to stich up new alliances in almost every state, even though it does not need them to win. In 2004, BJP did so out of weakness, as the party had simply given up on attempting 272 on its own. In 2024, it is doing so from a position of strength, to win as many seats as it possibly can.
In 2004, there was no fire in BJP's belly, hence it went belly-up. in 2024, the party is led by a PM who is firing on all cylinders, to achieve his vision of making India a global leader and a developed nation by 2047. His enthusiasm in infectious and the trust people have in him unflinching. I won't be surprised if his third victory turns out to be his biggest.
The U.S. Department of Transportation awarded Ohio and Kentucky $1.6 billion dollars for the massive Brent Spence Bridge project in one of the largest grants in the nation’s history. @jamespilcher reports.

Truly the end of an era #LataMangeshkar . Have always loved her melodious voice, her music, story of her courage&hard work in pulling her family out of dire straits,& her life lived with so much dignity. In good times & rough, her voice has been like a balm-will live on forever.
