Exams Everywhere… Except for Investors!

MFDs need to clear exams before starting their practice.
RIAs too must pass rigorous certification.
There are separate exams for PMS professionals — and now for SIFs as well.

Every intermediary or advisor is tested before handling other people’s money.

But the investor, who chooses to invest directly, without any guidance — needs no qualification, no test, no accountability.

Strange, isn’t it?
Those who advise need to prove competence.
Those who invest crores directly — need only confidence.

If exams are about protecting investors,
maybe it’s time to ask —
who protects investors from themselves?
