Every spring, a select lucky few win the Masters ticket lottery and make the trip to Augusta, Georgia, for golf’s crown jewel.
But, for one Northeast Wisconsin native going to the Masters is something he gets to do every year. That story for @WFRVSports:
Introducing our proposed name for Cleveland’s new WNBA team… THE Ohio Wolverines.
The Midwest work ethic is a real thing. As someone who has spent a lot of time on both sides of the lake, I can tell you that Ohio and Michigan have far more similarities than differences.
We’re hoping Detroit follows suit with its WNBA franchise and embraces that same spirit of regional unity by naming its new team the "Michigan Buckeyes," as Cleveland and Detroit grow the game together from the shores of Lake Erie, the Midwest’s own Mediterranean.
Be sure to grab your official Ohio Wolverines merch—available online at https://t.co/tiG9WDIu00 within the next 60 days. Use code APRILFOOLS to receive 15% off your first order.
So… how do you like the name? We love it!
I asked Micah Parsons what it’ll feel like to take the field at Lambeau for the first time after coming back from his ACL injury:
“It's going to be crazy. I just look forward to putting on a show. There’s a lot of aggression that’s built up right now, and there’s a lot of pain that I feel like I’m suffering that other people need to feel too.”
Micah added, "Everything is leading up to that return date and getting back on the field. It's going to be all year. When the game gets taken away from you, it's a different level of mindset you come back with. I'm ready to see that person, and that player."
If you want to learn a little bit more about Chicago Bears WR Jahdae Walker, read this:
0⭐️ recruit out of HS, no D1 offers. Still, busted his ass every day. Played offense (WR), defense (FS), and special teams (KR and PR) at Shaker Heights HS.
Enrolled at D2 Grand Valley State, establishing himself as one of the lead team’s lead wideouts his sophomore season: 30 catches for 636 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Transferred to Texas A&M with 3 years of eligibility remaining, playing 2 seasons for the Aggies totaling 26 games with 64 receptions for 935 yards (averaging 14.6 yards per catch), and scoring 4 touchdowns.
He left school a year early (still graduated) and signed with the Chicago Bears as an Undrafted Free Agent. And in the Bears’ three preseason games, Walker caught 8 passes for 98 yards and 2 touchdowns, including the game-winner in the finale against the Chiefs. Ultimately putting himself in a position to make Chicago’s 53-man roster.
Flash forward about 4 months, Walker’s number is called again when WRs Rome Odunze and Luther Burden II are ruled OUT vs. the Packers in Week-16… and what happens? Walker hauls in the game-tying TD, putting the Bears in a position to win the NFC North for the first time since 2018.
MAXIMIZING YOUR OPPORTUNITY. Congratulations Jahdae Walker. @ShakerRaidersFB
While playing at Georgia, #Packers DB Javon Bullard learned from under then-DBs coach Fran Brown (@FranBrownCuse) — now the HC at Syracuse:
"Shout out Fran man, keep doing your thing at Syracuse... That's a different coach right there, you gotta love Fran."
For @WFRVSports yesterday, @KyleMalzhan and I went through the #Packers remaining schedule and broke it down week-to-week:
- Kyle believes the Packers will finish 14-3 with losses to the Bengals, Steelers (in Pittsburgh), and Lions (in Detroit).
- I said the Packers will finish 13-4 with losses to the Cowboys (in Dallas), Steelers (in Pittsburgh), Bears (in Chicago), and Ravens.
What do you think?
Chicago Bears UDFA WR Jahdae Walker has made a strong case to make the roster.
All he does is make plays. I fully trust Ben Johnson & Antwaan Randle El can develop him into something special. 🔥
Legendary NFL offensive lineman Joe Thomas is as Wisconsin as it gets.
His most memorable moment playing for @BadgerFootball and what went into his decision to stay home:
First two weeks in the books at @WFRVLocal5, and tonight I was introduced on Sports Xtra by our Sports Director @burkegriffin.
And, he immediately came at my Cleveland Browns.. some things never change.. but, nonetheless couldn't be more excited to work with such a great group.
On Friday, #Packers running back Josh Jacobs hosted his first Youth Football Camp in Green Bay.
Jacobs hosted several camps of this kind while playing for the Raiders, but when the opportunity arrived to host a camp in Packerland, he said it was a no-brainer. @WFRVSports
