@andee_tagle writes abt The Enduring Romance of Mixtapes.
I don't know about the romance, but will never forget the Mixtape my son gave me as he went off to college & I was newly divorced. It had everything from Gipsy Kings, to Elvis Costello & made me smile with every track.
I grew up in the era of mixtapes when I traded rock and heavy metal mixtapes with friends. Some were musicians who would play riffs in the spare tape at the end of shorter albums: https://t.co/cdtEwmY0D2
Excited to be quoted in The Atlantic. I never imagined mixtapes is what would get me there.
Nothing says “I see you” or “I want you to see me” quite like a romantic mixtape, @andee_tagle writes: https://t.co/xMpi5CZ06W
