I’ve learned a lot helping my family get my dad into hospice but one of the biggest realizations I’ve had is that our country is facing a geriatric financial time bomb. It is absolutely insane how much elder care costs. For my family if we were to have someone 24/7 it’s $450k a year

@cabbageridge @GirlUn_Censored @davidhogg111 Same here. I bought about 20 years ago through employer. The actuaries under estimated the cost, so policies were not priced appropriately. When I hear the costs today I am shocked. It I’m single and no family so need to make sure there’s something.

@AquilaFarrell @C0URTNEYC0 I had the AC here for service. Tried to scam me about ‘organic matter “ (mold that was actually dirt) costing $1400 to fix. Said needed to ponder. Then said ‘oh, talk to owner and let us know’. Told him ‘owner would be me’. His eyes popped. 1/2

@AJDelgado13 Friend asked me years ago was I concerned about Haitian immigrants ( too much Fox News for them). In South Florida about 90% of home health care workers are Haitian. And they are assisting older white people.
