Lmao I have 2.
Mother Teresa and Mahatma Gandhi.
Mother Teresa let dying patients be treated with blunt reused needles, had a mortality rate about 40% in her clinics and when she was confronted about the conditions, said there’s something beautiful in seeing the poor accept their lot, and to suffer it like Christ’s Passion. Doctors called her facilities “homes for the dying”. And cancer patients were given aspirin for pain.
Gandhi too, the face of universal peace, the person that said “be the change you wish to see”, spent years in South Africa describing Black Africans as “savage”, “dirty” and living like animals. He campaigned actively to prove to British rulers that Indians were superior to native Black Africans. He also organized a brigade to help suppress a Zulu uprising. His defenders say he evolved. Maybe.
Nobody likes to talk about the entire sides of history.
And these are their summarized versions btw.
I'll remove myself before I allow anger to consume me ever again. I like to love. I like to laugh. I like to be happy. So if I gotta distance myself to keep things that way, I will.
Someone asked me, "Why is it important to be kind?"
I replied: Because you never know who is grieving, exhausted, or at their breaking point. Your kindness might be the only bit of warmth they feel today.
People assume depression means you’re sad and crying all the time. Real depression feels like being stuck in a fog. You can’t think, you don’t respond to things, nothing is interesting, and you just feel empty. Not sad, just blank.
I am fully convinced that 2019 was the last normal year we ever had. Ever since then, it feels like everything’s broken. Everyone is constantly anxious, time moves too fast, and nothing actually feels real anymore. The world as we knew it is just gone
Some of you look calm on the outside. But inside you’re carrying family pressure, unpaid bills, and unfinished dreams.
I pray this week rewards your effort.
Narcissist abuse is INVISIBLE. There’s no bruises. No proof. Just psychological warfare that destroys you from the inside. So when you try to explain it, people think you’re exaggerating. “It can’t be THAT bad”. But it IS. And nobody believes you.
