As men, we are generally, largely unaware of many of the issues women face in health care. I first started thinking about this a few years ago when my man, who writes and directs a lot of pro-women stage plays (in part as a tribute to his beloved mother whom he adored) had a show about a hospital that historically neglected women's needs and caused a lot of mothers to needlessly die.

He's a huge Barbra Streisand fan (did I mention we are gay, honey?) and so he also taught me about her advocacy for the research and treatment of women's heart disease. Why women? Because more women die of heart disease than men and until recently, all the research into it had been done on male hearts. But surely, all hearts are the same, right? No. The male heart has greater mass, volume, and cardiac output than the female heart, while the female heart has slightly greater ejection fractions and heart rate. The signs of an incoming heart attack are wildly different between the sexes too (graphic below for reference).

So you see, sex does matter. Not only does it matter but gender ideology poses a direct threat to its importance which puts female lives at risk. When you fill out a census and you indulge in your non-binary identity, how do you think that impacts what government funds go to which healthcare departments? If they can't get an accurate number of women in a particular area, for instance, how do they allocate resources or prioritise services? How many women needlessly die because we still don't understand their hearts to the same degree that we do mine and do you think this issue stops with heart disease?

Because it doesn't. Because every cell, every organ, every fibre of our being is sexed. And when we let go of that, we let go of one of your favourite phrases, dearest gender flat earther: LIFE SAVING MEDICAL CARE. And none of your pronouns, nor sports medals nor access to spaces you don't belong in matter more than those lives.
