The guy who lost his security clearance in Aug 2025 for cozying up to the Taliban is now INSIDE the Foreign Relations Committee “working” on the bill to defund the Taliban.

@DNIGabbard revoked his clearance, but the Senate gave him a red pen to make changes to the No Tax Dollars For Terrorists Act. Mr. Thomas West is a staffer in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Thomas West does not want to Defund the Taliban, not now, not ever. He has called for increased U.S. engagement with the Taliban since the Abbey Gate bombing. He has called the Taliban technocrats, sincere, and professionals. Thomas West views the Taliban as a counterterrorism partner of the United States.

@SenatorRisch — why is Thomas West anywhere near the bill to Defund the Taliban? And why is he in the Senate building after his security clearance was revoked?
