Although the battle to eradicate atrial arrhythmias rages on, I am proud that I finished my monthlong quest vanquishing a formidable flutter with the mighty Ibutilide.
Clearly, I need some sleep. It’s been a long (but great) 4 weeks.
We need more storms in medicine besides thyroid and VT.
COPD exacerbation—> Bronchospasm storm
Gout flare—> uric acid storm
Would make daily practice much more dramatic.
@RxFitnessMD_ Yes it did! I would never forget thyroid storm after having a very classic case of it on my first week as an attending. Jesse Veisblatt handled it like a boss.
@PaulNWilliamz Along the same vein for me from the 1950 Jimmy Stewart movie, Harvey: “Years ago, my mother used to say to me, she'd say "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so so smart, or oh so pleasant." Well, for years I was smart... I recommend pleasant.”
If I do a procedure during Epic downtime, do I just go around telling people how verbal consent was obtained and immediately prior to the procedure a time out was called? I can’t type it. I don’t know what to do. Please send help.
Although storks typically deliver babies, cardiologists’ children are actually delivered by Swans. Thanks to @kkfrench29 and @TempleCards for this amazing cake! Only a few more weeks before we meet our Bundle of His…I mean…joy
I’m a terrible artist, but drawing helps me remember things. Trying to learn echo basics (segments, vascular distribution, etc). Any good resources you’ve used to learn how to read echos?
