FWIW, as our district considers start times: The American Academy of Pediatrics has recommended that middle and high schools start at 8:30 a.m. or later to give students the opportunity to get the amount of sleep they need. Data says better test scores/grades with later starts.

Schools can’t expect teachers to work 60-70 hrs per week, but then say self care is important.
