As a parent, there’s no greater joy than watching your kids succeed but even more than that, watching them be accepted, supported and genuinely loved.
Yesterday, Noah and Dash held the first annual golf tournament for their foundation, and I got to see what love really looks like.
Coach Brennan, Coach Doege, Coach Arce and Coach Hunley altered plans during the only real downtime they get all year just to come support them. Athletic Director Desireé Reed-Francois drove around the course with Coach B, passing out cold Gatorades to the participants.
Softball, volleyball, baseball, fraternities and, of course, football all had teams. Cole Davis, Desert Diamond, Brandon Williams, Steven Ochoa, Chapman Auto Group, Justin Spears and so many other donors and alumni showed up to play or just support.
Loyalty isn’t what you say when it’s convenient. It’s what you sacrifice when nobody would blame you for staying home.
Yesterday wasn’t really about golf for me . I got to see who showed up for my sons when they didn’t have to.
Grateful is an understatement.
