ETIAS, the EU's new pre-travel authorization for visa-exempt visitors, was set to launch by the end of 2026. That target is gone. The official ETIAS page has dropped its Q4 2026 date and posted nothing new. eu-LISA meets again in September to set a revised timeline. Financial Times reporting, via The Points Guy and others, now points to 2027.

Worth keeping straight: EES, the fingerprint and photo check at Schengen borders, is already fully active and has nothing to do with this delay. ETIAS is the separate €20 form that hasn't launched.
